The Ashanti regional Police will soon put a 20 year-old lady before court after she was arrested for stealing a 6 month-old baby.
Patience Anane absconded with the baby on the 13th of January, 2019 when the mother of the baby left him in her care at the Kwame Antwi lorry station near Race Course in Kumasi for a quick errand.
She however returned to meet the absence of both Patience and her baby; a situation that prompted her to file a complaint at the District Police Command at Suame.
Acting Spokesperson for the Ashanti Regional Police Command; ASP Godwin Ahianyo who gave the details says investigations were conducted immediately which resulted in the arrest of Patience at Bantama; a suburb of Kwame Danso in the Brong Ahafo region on 17th January, 2019.
Both Patience and the baby were then handed over to the Kwame Danso District Police Command where she, together with the child were transferred to the Suame District Police Command for the continuation of investigations.
The suspect is currently in Police custody, while the baby has been handed over to the mother under the supervision of the Police.
ASP Godwin Ahianyo extended gratitude to the kontihene of Kojo bofour; a suburb of Yeji and the Assemblyma for Bantama in Yeji as well as one Mohammed Seidu for the help they offered the Police during the investigations.
