Ghana News–A regional treasurer hopeful for the Ashanti Regional Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Fred Addae has been disqualified from participating further in the upcoming regional executive polls.

A source close to the Committee revealed the hopeful could not defend some expenditure he undertook prior to the 2016 election as constituency treasurer.

Having been petitioned by three party members in the Manhyia-North Constituency with names such as Albert Boakye Dankwah, Alhassan Mohammed and Asare Benjamin, the Vetting Committee chaired by the famous Frederick Fredua Anto sought to give the hopeful the chance to defend himself against the charge of misappropriation.

The source said despite some labored explanations from Mr Addae the Committee found his answers as flimsy and unsound.
