Ghana News–The Church of Pentecost (COP) has presented some sets of furniture, stationery and a photocopier with its accessories to the Buokrom Police.
The gesture by the Church is to assist personnel at the Police Station carry out their duties as well as functions effectively.
At a brief ceremony at the precincts of the Police Station last Friday, Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, New-Tafo Area Head of COP handed over the items to ASP Andreas Kordzo Mifetu, District Crime Officer at the Airport-Police.
Briefing the media later, Apostle Asante noted the difficult manner the Police have had to work with little resources and mentioned the commitment of the Church of Pentecost to help the administration tackle some of its challenges.
The Servant of God encouraged residents and other churches in the Manhyia-North Community to help provide assistance to the Police so as to make their work less burdensome.
POLICE:
Speaking to the media after receiving the items, ASP Kordzo Mifetu commended the Church Of Pentecost for the gesture and urged private and corporate organizations to emulate the example of the Church.
According to him, the donation is timely considering that personnel at the Station lacked the requisite furniture and items to carry out their duties.
Though the Police Station is a new one, ASP Mifetu said it lacked basic logistics to make it function at its optimum level.
Personnel, he noted have no access to a patrol vehicle and have had to effect arrests or carry out policing duties while boarding taxis to and from the Station.
COMMUNITY HEADS:

On his part, Samuel Osei-Tutu, Assemblyman for Buokrom-Estate decried the bad nature of the roads in the Buokrom Estate community.
He, however, urged the Roads Minister to follow up with the contractor to ensure it starts work on the roads it has been awarded to upgrade in the Buokrom Communities.

He, however, entreated the community to do well to help periodically, noting that effective policing is a shared responsibility between residents and the Police administration.
