The leader of the minority in the Ghanaian Parliament, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has assured the King and overlord of Dagbon Ya-Na Abukari II that the next NDC government will restore to him the powers he has as the king and overlord of the Dagbon kingdom.
He mentioned that they are fully aware of the total disregard to his authorities by section of people in the kingdom who ride on the back of the NPP government to belittle him.
He acknowledged the fact that the Akufo Addo led government has done well in ending the road map to peace which led to the installation of the Ya-Na, they have however failed to empower the king as they have watched on for their party members to disregard his authorities.
He made these assertions when the former president and flag bearer of the opposition NDC paid a courtesy call on the king as part of his tour of the Dagbon kingdom.
The former president John Mahama promised the king of a new district hospital, an improved Yendi water supply system and the completion of the eastern corridor road among other things, if voted in to power come December 7 and called on the people to vote for the him and the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Yendi constituency, Lawyer Alhassan Fataw Jofa.
