Hundreds of Ghanaians from all walks of life have joined the Inter-Party Coalition for National Sovereignty’s ‘Aagbe wo’ demonstration to protest the increasing rate of violence in the country.
According to the Coalition, the recent clashes at one polling station during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election which resulted in the shooting and injuring of about six persons pushed them to organise Thursday’s demonstration.
They explained the protest is to send a clear signal to the government to check the level of insecurity in the country, which they say is threatening the country’s democracy.
The procession of MPs and members from the various parties in opposition are currently on their way to the Police Headquarters after presenting a petition to the Interior Ministry.
The protest began from the circle Interchange in Accra through the Interior Ministry, the police quarters and will finally end at the Flagstaff House.
