Spokesperson for the Andani Royal Family in Dagbon; Chief Kpan Naa Abukari Andani says the public should disregard publications suggesting the formation of any committee towards the funeral rites of the late Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani.
At a press conference held Sunday, the Family Spokesperson insisted that the family is yet to meet over matters related to the funeral.
He called on the government and the committee of Eminent Chiefs to ensure the Palace of Mba Dugu is free from occupancy since it is one of the major houses that will be used during the funeral and installation of a new Yaa Naa.
He explained that, the Gundo Naa and the Yaanlimam as well as MBA Dugu are customarily mandated to stay in the house of Mba Dugu, which is currently occupied by Bolin Lana,
He further explained that when a new Yaa Naa is enskined, he stays in in that same house for some customs before he is finally sent to the Gbewaa Palace “There is no way these customs can all be done smoothly if the house is already occupied by the Bolin Lana”, he added.
The family therefore petitioned the government and the committee of eminent chiefs to as a matter of urgency ask the Bolin Lana to relocate for a smooth performance of the funeral and subsequent installation of a new Yaa Naa.
