Chamber of Agribusiness eulogizes Agric Minister, PFJ……As Most Outstanding Program
The Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana (CAG) the largest agricultural stakeholders’ organization in the country has described the country’s agricultural flagship programme “Planting for Food and Jobs” as the ‘Most Outstanding Program’ amongst many interventions introduced by the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the leadership of His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo.
In a citation presented to the Sector Minister, Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, in recognition of his outstanding performance since his appointment, the CAG, led by its National Chairperson, Madam Marjorie Abdin, noted that the Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) programme is revolutionary step towards reviving the agricultural sector.
It said the PFJ programme holds massive prospects for the agricultural industry, stressing that the policy has evoked “euphoria, excitement and unparalleled coverage” for players in the industry.
The latest award follows similar recognition by the Association of Aides to Regional Chairmen of the NPP who voted the Minister of Food and Agriculture as the best performing appointee for the year 2018.
The full Citation by the CAG reads:
“For revolution they say comes in small forms.
Acknowledging an outstanding contribution to Ghana’s Agriculture Industry.
Planting for Food and Jobs is recognized as the MOST OUTSTANDING PROGRAM for among many giving the industry it’s importance in Ghana’s Economy, Financial.
The Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana therefore awards PFJ for such euphoria, excitement and unparalleled coverage and prospects in the industry”
Amongst the delegation that presented the special award to the Minister in his office included Madam Marjorie Abdin – Chairperson, Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana, Farmer Davis Korboe Board Member and Chairman, National Farmers Award winners and Farmer Anthony Morrison,CEO Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana.
Others were Prof. Johnson Paa Nii Snr Advisor Research Development Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana and University of Ghana/ CSIR, Dr. Courage Adanu Bessah Director Food and Intellectual Property, Togbe Festus Senior Policy Advisor Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana and Mr Ebenezer Ennibil Resource Economist Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana.
Receiving the honour, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, expressed appreciation to the CAG for recognizing the contribution of the Ministry and reiterated the commitment of government and the President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo towards the Ghanaian people in ensuring they get food to eat all year round.
