Ghana News-Ghanaian hip-hop artiste Kwaw Kese has lamented the huge drug problem Ghana faces.
He wants musicians to use their powerful influence in helping fight drug abuse among Ghanaian youth.
He was speaking to Eli Kharis on the Buzz segment of Rythmz Live on GhOne tv.
Kwaw Kese has released a hip-hop banger; Trap House which he says is the official anti-drug abuse song from the camp of Mad time. He also says Trap House is the official song for Youth Against Drugs.
He explains that the song Trap House features Kwesi Arthur because the song is a hip-hop song and Kwesi Arthur is the hip-hop artiste of the year.
He hinted that an anti-drug abuse concert; YADs concert is in the works and is supposed help dissuade Ghanaian youth from drug abuse.
Kwaw Kese, known outside showbiz as Emmanuel Botchway took up a campaign against drug abuse when he was arrested by the Police in Kumasi for smoking cannabis in 2014. The hip-hop artiste has never looked back since and has consistently advised the youth against using illicit drugs.
In the same interview, the musician was excited he finally got the 5000 retweets he was seeking prior to the release of Trap House. He said he was mocked by many when he failed to make the target after almost two months. He was however thankful for the retweets and expected the song to make waves.
“We (musicians) have a lot of followers following us but when we put out something, nobody cares. I wanted to test if my fans are really loyal hence my request. I did the first one and within a day, I got the 500 retweets I asked for. Then I decided to up it for 5000 retweets. A lot of people have trolled me and were not expecting me to reach this but thank God we made it”, he explained to GhOne TV’s Eli Kharis.
